Microdermabrasion is an effective treatment for mild acne scarring, hyperpigmentation, and dry or blemish-prone skin. How is a Medical Spa in a Plastic Surgery Office Different from the Average Med Spa?

While the typical med spa has various estheticians and providers for cosmetic treatments, there is often no physician onsite. These med spas may not have a doctor who directly provides services. In contrast, a medical spa at a plastic surgery office is spearheaded by the board-certified plastic surgeon who leads the practice, offering services and insight. Some aesthetic procedures should only be performed by a skilled plastic surgeon or with direct oversight on the provided treatments.

When Do I Need to Arrive for My Appointment?

We ask that you arrive 10 minutes  before your appointment to fill out any necessary paperwork. Medical spa services, especially when performed on your first visit, often require forms that go over your medical history, the reason for your appointment or type of concern and your contact information. Some treatments may require a numbing agent, which may take 30 mins to an hour to take effect.

How Do I Prepare for My Appointment?

If your appointment is for a chemical peel, facial, microdermabrasion, microneedling or microblading, we ask that you arrive without makeup and with a clean face, if possible. However, we can remove your makeup and cleanse your skin if you’re coming from work or another activity. If you have a wax appointment, you will see the best results if you shower and exfoliate beforehand.

How Do I Determine Which Skin Treatment I Need?

What If I Am Late for My Appointment?

While we understand unexpected events may push your arrival time, we take care to schedule appointments for the precise amount of time needed to complete your medical spa treatment. Arriving late may take away from your treatment session or make it difficult to complete your treatment. Some spa services may need to be rescheduled if you are late.

We try to provide our clients with prompt appointments and accessible hours. Because of this goal, we ask that you kindly give our office 48 hours notice prior to canceling a scheduled appointment. Please be aware that we are instituting a $50 service charge for failure to provide adequate notice of cancellation. This service charge will be automatically billed to your account or credit card.
