Here at Facial Aesthetic Concepts, we formulate our own custom peel solutions designed to treat the specific skin concerns we see in Southern California. Chemical peels are affordable treatments that enhance the quality of your skin with only minutes taken away from your daily routine. The combination of ingredients in our chemical peels are unique to Facial Aesthetic Concepts and were created to enhance the results of facials and other treatments for face and skin.
Lighter chemical peels are performed by our estheticians and are excellent options to remove superficial brown spots, improve finer lines and wrinkles, and simply refresh the appearance of your skin. The downtime after a chemical peel is variable and based on the peel you have. Some have no downtime at all while others will create some “bronzing” with subsequent peeling, which is completed in 2 to 5 days.
For more sun damaged skin or skin showing the signs of aging, medium to deep chemical peels are available through our dermatologic specialists or plastic surgeons. Phenol and an assortment of TCA peels are available. These more thorough peels will treat more stubborn brown spots, more difficult skin textural issues, and deeper lines and wrinkles. The peeling is typically completed in 4 to 7 days, with very mild pinkness in the skin resolving shortly thereafter.

Sharon did my TCA peel on my arms. I have been self-conscious about brown spots I have acquired on my arms over the years and knew it would take a deeper treatment to get rid of the layers of sun damage. I was amazed at how it worked. It took about 10 days from start to finish to reveal the new skin. I can see the results right away. Although it can't get every single spot it got 97% of them so I can feel confident now. Sharon was great and really took the time to layer the peel on just the right amount. I recommend Sharon for any type of peel.

Chemical Peel FAQs
How much do chemical peels cost?
The price of chemical peels depends on a variety of factors including your esthetician’s experience, location, type of chemical peel being used, time and effort to complete, and whether you’re combining it with other procedures. We have a variety of chemical peels that range from $125 to $220. During your consultation, you and your esthetician will assess your needs and decide which chemical peel option is right for you.
How can I find the best esthetician for a chemical peel near me?
In order to make sure you have selected the best esthetician for you, make sure your esthetician has experience performing chemical peels. Ask to see before and after photos to get an idea of the results others have experienced.
Does a chemical peel hurt?
Most individuals report a mild burning or stinging sensation when their chemical peel is being applied. For lighter chemical peels, pain relief is not typically needed. For medium and deeper chemical peels, your esthetician may use a topical numbing cream, numb your skin with a local anesthetic or administer a sedative.
How long will recovery take after a chemical peel?
This will depend on the strength of the chemical peel. Depending on the type of chemical peel, you may experience symptoms similar to a sunburn. Lighter chemical peels recovery can take 2 to 5 days while deeper chemical peels can have a healing time of 4 to 7 days. Throughout the recovery process, you may notice your skin has a bronzed appearance, which is to be expected. If your skin looks bronzed, you can expect some light peeling to follow. It’s important to allow for ample recovery time and to not pick at your skin or peel it.
Can my chemical peel be combined with other med spa treatments?
Chemical peels can be paired with microneedling, microdermabrasion, clinical facials and other cosmetic procedures. Your esthetician may recommend a combination treatment based on your aesthetic goals.
What are the risks involved with a chemical peel?
While chemical peels are a relatively safe procedure, there are some risks to keep in mind as with any med spa treatment. Redness, inflammation, infection, changes in skin color and scarring are some of the potential risks to keep in mind for your chemical peel treatment. Prior to your chemical peel, you will discuss your health history with your esthetician in order to prepare for your treatment.
How can I prepare for my chemical peel?
To maximize the benefits of your chemical peel, here’s a few things you should do:
- Choose the right chemical peel for your skin is the first step. Your esthetician will be able to customize the peel according to your skin’s specific needs.
- Discuss your expectations with your esthetician when considering your chemical peel. For best results, many find that 2 or 3 chemical peels several months apart can help to achieve optimal results.
- Be sure to discontinue all retinols and hydroxy acids at least 3 days prior to treatment.
- Avoid exfoliating a week prior to your chemical peel.
