I recently had fillers injected and I am so pleased with the result. My face was very wrinkled and drawn. Now it has a nice contour. Having a youthful appearance makes me feel better and even seems to give me more vitality. Sharon did a fabulous job. I will continue to return to the office as needed. The change is amazing.

Which Injectable Fillers Do We Offer?
At FAC, we offer a wide variety of dermal fillers that use naturally occurring hyaluronic acid (HA) or FDA-approved synthetic substances to address a long list of aesthetic concerns. Our dermal fillers can be used alone or combined to maximize your results.
JUVEDERM® ULTRA XC
JUVEDERM® is an injectable gel that can boost facial volume and give you a firmer look on your chin and jawline. It is often used to treat nasolabial folds, the “parentheses” lines running from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth. Many people who have JUVEDERM treatments think of them as a kind of facelift without surgery. Our expert injectors also use JUVEDERM to even out or add volume to the lips, helping you achieve your desired look.
JUVEDERM is an FDA-approved filler and is well known for its long-lasting results. On average, people who have JUVEDERM treatments report looking about 5 years younger, and see their results last for a year or more before retreatment is necessary.
JUVEDERM® ULTRA-PLUS XC
This is an enhanced version of the classic JUVEDERM® product. Its thicker consistency makes it more appropriate for treating moderate to severe lines, wrinkles and areas with more dramatic volume loss. Patients use it to treat nasolabial folds, sunken cheeks and smaller lips.
JUVEDERM® VOLUMA XC
JUVEDERM® VOLUMA XC is a formulation of the popular JUVEDERM filler that can instantly lift and add volume to the mid face area — with long-lasting results of up to 2 years. It also helps to correct volume loss and restore youthful contours. For patient comfort, JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC has lidocaine, a numbing agent that helps reduce any discomfort you may have during the treatment.
JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA
JUVEDERM® VOLBELLA is designed to give you the desired lip fullness you are looking for. It also can be used to soften and smooth out the lines around your mouth.
Restylane®
Like JUVEDERM®, Restylane® is a dermal filler that restores volume and fullness to the skin. Restylane is used to correct wrinkles, lines, and folds on the lower portion of the face. Restylane also can be used to augment the lips, improve acne scars, and add volume to deflating cheeks and corners of the mouth.
Restylane is made of a substance found naturally in the human skin, which means it is fully biocompatible and does not require allergy testing before treatment. Restylane maintains its shape using the body’s own water. The hyaluronic molecule in Restylane is hydrophilic or “water-loving.” As the hyaluronic molecules dissolve, the molecules bind to more water, which has the result of maintaining a lasting correction of the line, wrinkle or fold. Restylane can last up to 6 months before retreatment is necessary.
RESTYLANE® CONTOUR
One of the newest additions to the RESTYLANE® family, RESTYLANE® Contour is used to add volume to the middle of the face. It is especially useful for changing the shape of the cheeks without limiting the face’s ability to make expressions.
RESTYLANE® KYSSE
KYSSE is the only RESTYLANE® product designed specifically for the lips. It is formulated to give the lips a softer, pillowy look, as well as minimize the tiny lines that form immediately around the mouth.
Restylane® Defyne
Restylane® Defyne is crafted with XpresHAn Technology™ to correct deeper lines and folds on the face. The unique cross-linking of the gel in Restylane Defyne is also designed to help support your facial expressions for natural-looking results that help maintain your natural muscle movement.
RESTYLANE® REFYNE
Also using XpresHAn Technology™, RESTYLANE® Refyne targets smile/laugh lines. Although similar to Defyne in many respects, Refyne is better suited to treatment of mild-to-moderate lines and signs of aging.
Radiesse®
Radiesse® is FDA-approved for the treatment of facial lines and wrinkles and the restoration of volume in the hands. Radiesse contains unique calcium-based microspheres that are suspended in a water-based gel and injected through a simple, safe, and minimally invasive procedure.
In the face, Radiesse provides long-term correction of lines and wrinkles, with many patients enjoying results for a year or more.
Our medical providers also use Radiesse to restore volume to your hands. Some of the most revealing signs of aging appear on our hands. Age, genetics, and sun exposure can make our hands look old before their time, despite our best efforts to protect them. Often, our hands are the best indicator of our real age. Radiesse is the first and only FDA-approved injectable product for hand augmentation to correct volume loss in the hands. It restores volume to your hands and provides smooth, natural-looking results that can be seen immediately and can last up to 1 year.
Sculptra® Aesthetic
Sculptra® Aesthetic is an FDA-approved cosmetic facial treatment for the correction of shallow to deep nasolabial folds (smile lines), contour deficiencies, and other facial concerns. It works gradually, resulting in a more youthful looking appearance that has been proven to last for years. Because the results occur gradually, there is no dramatic overnight change. Indeed, your body reverses the signs of aging over a period of several months.
Sculptra Aesthetic works by stimulating your body to produce more collagen and other essential components for healthy skin. Over time, patients experience a gradual and significant increase in skin thickness, thereby improving the appearance of facial folds and hollowed areas such as the temples and cheeks.
On average, most patients will achieve their desired results after 3 to 4 treatments. Each treatment is spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart, providing a gradual but noticeable improvement. The gradual improvement means you have the ability to refresh your look without obviously having a treatment performed.
Treatment Techniques and Additional Options
Injectable fillers offer a very simple treatment visit. After you’re determined to be a good candidate for a filler, you can have the filler administered right in our treatment room. If you’re doing only one syringe of filler, your treatment will typically be completed in 30 minutes or less. If you do elect to receive the topical numbing cream for comfort, you will arrive 30 minutes before your provider begins injecting so that the numbing cream has adequate time to set in.
Patients having injectable fillers commonly add BOTOX® Cosmetic to their treatment plan. BOTOX is able to target wrinkles around the eye and eyebrow area, as opposed to the lower face where dermal fillers tend to be most effective. By combining the treatments, you can achieve remarkable wrinkle reduction on your entire face.
Fillers also can be combined with more extensive facial surgeries, such as a microlift or eyelid surgery. They are very versatile and can offer cosmetic benefits for a wide range of patients.

- Sunken or drooping cheeks
- Thin lips
- Hands with an aged look

At your consultation, we’ll review your facial anatomy and talk about the look you’re hoping to achieve. Based on this review, we can advise which filler(s) will work best for you. Initial treatment can sometimes be performed the same day as your consultation appointment but is most often scheduled after an initial consultation, sometimes along with more extensive surgical procedures if you are having a more comprehensive makeover including a facelift or eyelid surgery.
Injections themselves take only minutes to perform. Many of our patients choose to have treatments over their lunch hour or toward the end of the day, making the session very convenient even if you have a busy work schedule.
Cost
We offer competitive pricing for all filler treatments at our offices. One of the big benefits of dermal filler treatments is the low cost compared to surgical options. In addition, many filler brands periodically offer specials and discounts to make these treatments even more cost-effective. We encourage you to contact us for details on current pricing and any special offers that may be available.
Dermal Filler Recovery
After your injectable filler session, you can expect to carry on with almost all of your usual activities that same day. You’ll need to skip any strenuous workouts for the first day after treatment, and during this time we also advise you to avoid alcohol and sun exposure. Otherwise, you should feel comfortable enough to drive, shop, prepare meals, and complete any other activities you regularly engage in.
Because the injection needles are so small, the risk of bruising and swelling in the treatment area is minimal. We take special care at Facial Aesthetic Concepts to use techniques that will achieve a patient’s desired results without any noticeable aftereffects. Even with special care, however, some mild, temporary side effects are possible. These may include a bit of tenderness, redness, bruising, swelling, and itching around where the injections were placed.
Results
Because dermal fillers physically fill in areas of lost volume and wrinkling, the results are immediate. You’ll see smoother, plumper skin right after the injections are completed. The amount of time the results will last depends on which filler was used and how much was injected. Broadly speaking, these are typical durations for results to be seen before retreatment is necessary to maintain your look:
- JUVEDERM: 9 to 12 months
- JUVEDERM VOLUMA XC: 1 to 2 years
- JUVEDERM VOLBELLA: 6 to 12 months
- Restylane: 6 months
- Restylane Defyne: 12 months
- Radiesse: Up to 1 year
- Sculptra Aesthetic: 1 to 2 years
How to Prepare for Your Treatment
- To minimize the risk of bruising, do not consume alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment.
- It is also advisable to avoid anti-inflammatory medications or drugs and supplements that can thin the blood for at least 2 weeks before treatment. Some of these include aspirin, ibuprofen, NSAIDs, vitamin E, and supplements containing ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John’s Wort, or omega 3. If you are unsure if a medication or supplement you take could have an adverse effect, please talk with us before your treatment.
- If you apply Retin-A, discontinue use 2 days before and 2 days after treatment.
- If you have a rash, cold sore or blemish on the area to be treated, contact us to reschedule. Patients with a history of cold sores may be prescribed an anti-viral medication prior to treatment.
- Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding — your treatment will need to be postponed.
What to Ask at Your Consultation
The consultation at Facial Aesthetic Concepts is your opportunity to voice any questions or concerns you may have about having a filler treatment. Here are some questions to help you get started as you make a list of what you want to cover in your time with our injection specialist.
What are your qualifications?
At Facial Aesthetic Concepts we have performed more than 16,000 syringes of filler on thousands of patients from all across the US and the world. All of our injectors have specialty training in advanced injection techniques and years of experience performing cosmetic injections. Our experience helps us to know exactly how to place injections so that you can achieve the look you want.
Am I a good candidate?
If you have signs of aging on the lower face, including sunken cheeks, wrinkles around the mouth, or deeper folds on the face and neck, you may benefit from dermal fillers. Women and men who want to increase their lip volume also may be good candidates for a filler treatment. We offer treatments of the hands using Radiesse for a much younger appearance as well.
When will I be able to return to work?
Right away. Lunch time is actually a very popular time for us to perform injectable filler treatments because they are so quick and provide instant improvement.
Can I see before and after photos of other people who had a filler treatment?
Our online photo gallery contains some photos of people we have treated with non-surgical services, including JUVEDERM and other treatments. We also have additional photos available at our offices if you are interested.

- Avoid massaging or rubbing the treated area for 24 hours. If you feel some swelling, a cold compress can be applied periodically.

FAQs
Does the treatment hurt?
You may feel the initial prick of the injection needle during a dermal filler treatment. This needle is extremely small and most of our patients do not report anything painful about the injection process. The addition of topical numbing cream provides additional comfort for those with sensitive skin.
Will I look unnatural?
Our goal is always to provide a naturally refreshed and enhanced look following filler treatments. Your facial muscles can move just as they always do and your face will be as expressive as ever. Friends and loved ones may comment that you look refreshed and rested, but they probably will have no idea you had any kind of treatment. Everyone will notice, but no one will know!
How are fillers different from BOTOX?
BOTOX Cosmetic uses a purified protein to temporarily relax facial muscles that can cause wrinkling over time. In contrast, the active ingredients in dermal fillers physically fill in wrinkles, deeper lines, and areas lacking volume. They don’t affect facial muscles in any way. Fillers are typically used in the lower parts of the face, and BOTOX is typically used in the upper parts of the face to address crow’s feet and frown lines. You can see results of a filler treatment right away, but BOTOX takes a few days to relax the targeted facial muscles.
Will fillers work on my skin type?
Yes. All fillers are safe and effective for all skin colors and types.
What if I don’t like the results?
Most fillers can be reversed if desired with a secondary injection. Because the results of filler injections are seen right away, we can work with you to make sure you have achieved your desired results before leaving the office.
